I was at baby group at the clinic this week and the visiting speaker was from Healthy Hillingdon. She was asking Mums what they wanted to make them healthy and happy. Some of the suggestions were spending more time with your partner, going shopping, having an uninterrupted long hot soak in the bath & finding things to do that don't cost money!
To this one Mum replied "They do jazz at the church in Hillingdon on the Uxbridge Road at the top of the hill and it's really good, I've taken the baby - you can have a cup of tea too". I mentioned to the Mum & the rest of the group that there was going to be a festival next week and promised to take some leaflets into the health visitor.
So I am very much looking forward to seeing some more Mums and babies at the church for the jazz in the future! My son certainly enjoyed the Friday session during half term - he was happily banging away on the bongo drums and can't wait to go again!

Baby Jazz
How fantastic! get 'em when their young and they will be jazz fans for life!
Air sax (you too can play along!)
Jj has been full-time at school since September and still wakes up on Tuesdays saying "Is it jazz day? And do I HAVE to go to school?"
More jazz enthusiasts wanted
at Friday jazz yesterday we had some extras in the audience, they had read about us in the Hillingdon Arts festival leaflet. It would be really good if there was a bigger audience though every week - (often there are none or only one person on a Friday). Does anyone have any thoughts on what we could do to grow the audience?
More Jazz Enthusiasts required....
Hi Christine,
I will do my bit by reminding the health visitors at the clinic and Healthy Hillingdon of the free jazz sessions so that Mums can come and chill with their babies and have a cup of tea.
As my family are also actively involved with Hayes FM, the local radio station for Hayes, I will get the jazz promoted on the station. I do know that they have promoted it during Arts Week.
For those who don't know Hayes FM is a local radio station for Hayes and the local surrounding areas which began broadcasting last Sept on a 5yr licence on 91.8 FM. If there is anything you would like to promote, please let me know or alternatively tune in!
