Our speaker this month took “ Mrs Beeton” as her subject . Most of us think of Mrs Beeton as an elderly lady with proportions equal to her cooking ability, only to discover that she was a young woman of slight build who died at the age of 28!  

The recipes in her books were collected from many sources and the only original Mrs Beeton recipe was one for vegetable soup.  July brings us to our Garden Party which this year is to be held at Margaret Newton’s garden.
