St John's held their AGM on Tuesday 29th April 2008. Here's a brief rundown of what happened...
Reordering plans
For various reasons some of the original plans had to be tweaked a little. Various members of the PCC gave a presentation explaining the final pans - what had been changed and why. There was an opportunity for people to ask questions over a glass of wine, with members of the PCC available to explain more fully if required. The revised plans were passed unanimously.
Annual Report
Since the report was printed out and distributed to church members a few weeks ago there was no need for indvidual presentations so Rob gave an overview with a chance for people to ask any questions. A huge thanks to Christine Bartlett for comipling the report!
Elections
Each year at the AGM we are required to hold elections for various positions within the church, prior to the meeting church members are invited to join the electoral roll which enables them to vote, people must be nominated and seconded to stand. The results are as follows...
Church Wardens
Our existing church wardens were the only two candidates and were happy to be re-elected.
Independant Examiner
This is the person who checks over the accounts to ensure that the finance team are looking after our money properly! Alan has been doing the job for some time now and since no-one else wanted to stand he was proposed and elected.
