Worshiping Communities

St John's Church is made up of a variety of overlapping communities.

In next stage of our mission together, each community will develop its own style of Christian worship, its own approach to mutual care, and its own priorities for outreach and mission.

These worshipping communities are:

Early Sunday

(currently the 8am congregation, to become the 8.00 to 9.30 community)

Mid-morning Sunday

(currently the 9.45 congregation, to become the 9.00 to 11.30 community)

Late Morning Sunday

(currently the 11.30 congregation, to become the 11.00 to 1.30 community)

Sunday Evening

(currently the 5.00 congregation)

Godspace

(a mid-week, home based cell church)

This is not a closed or definitive list. It is in the very nature of communities to change, for new communities to form and for existing communities to close.

At the time of writing, Peter Barber's Wednesday lunchtime 'Autumn Readings' series is an event that may or may not evolve into a 'worshipping community'; freedom and variety in such things is preferable to definition and control.
